About
Zakary Cina was born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota, an ever-growing small urban area with a small-town community atmosphere. He is currently studying for his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography with a minor in Graphic Design at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota.
Growing up in a place surrounded by small towns, he places importance on community and connectivity in his personal and professional lives.
It all started at 8 years old with a disposable kodak camera, and a week at summer camp. Seeing the beauty of the world around him, Zak knew that he wanted to show others the way that he saw it. From there his love for photography grew and eventually the disposable camera became a cell phone, then a 35mm, and now the digital world. (But film still holds a special space)
Over the years he has been able to learn, grow, and define his own style of photography and design with one goal in mind: to show the people, places, and things within the world in the brightest spotlight.
He is a dedicated creator, who is always looking for the next challenge while creating a fun, inspiring, and out-of-the box space for everyone he works with.
My Philosophy
As a Photographer and Graphic Designer in a time where changes within the field of advertising are unpredictable and erratic, I always challenge myself to stay on top of new and evolving trends, as well as experiment with variations of them. Both my photographic and design styles incorporate bold and expressive colors and contemporary elements. I can adapt my approach and technique to match the energy and drive that my clients bring to our collaborations. I want to help a brand stand out in a sea of others while staying true to who they are and what they stand for while having fun and creating effective and vibrant results.
